Detect and remove duplicates

Updated July 23, 2026

Duplicate detection compares the photos within one event on a few things: file name, timestamp and how similar the detected faces are. It then flags the likely duplicates for you.

Duplicates are common when you import from several memory cards, when you resume an interrupted upload, or when several collaborators add the same batch.

You stay in control: we flag, you decide what to remove. Nothing is deleted on its own.

Tip: run the duplicate pass before you share the link. Clearing them frees up quota and keeps your guests' gallery tidy.
